.45 CFDA Shotgun Primer Nickel-Plated Brass – 50 Ct. ($44.00)

NO LOADING TOOLS NEEDED! These are the only factory-made Nickel-Plated .45 Colt Shotgun Primer Brass for use with wax bullets on the market.  They are exclusively made for us by Starline Brass.  They are used for both practice and competition and since very little pressure is generated, they can be reused over and over for years. The primer pocket is factory-made to accept a 209 Shotgun Primers.

Warning!  Wax Bullets that are powered by Shotgun Primers are propelled at velocities between 600 – 750 feet per second, which is as fast as some live ammunition moves.  Please use wear safety glasses.  Since .45 caliber wax bullets weigh approx. 18-grains they can be stopped with archery netting, plywood, layers of carpet, or ballistic nylon.  Please use caution.  Also be aware that almost all primers emit small amounts of lead when discharged, so only use outdoors or in properly ventilated areas.

This brass is a factory-made for 209 Shotgun Primers.  This totally eliminates the need for standard Loading Tools since they simply “drop-in” as they’re being loaded into your revolver.  Then, once you have closed your Loading Gate, they will not Fall Out.  Once you’re done firing the rounds, simply open your loading gate empty the rounds and the primers will then fall out.  Just wipe the easy to clean nickel-plated brass, reload the wax bullets and you’re ready to reload again. They sound like a loud cap gun going off.

We highly advise on European brand of 209 Shotguns Primers like RIO, Wolf or Nobel Sport, Fiocchi, and Cheddite.  Please read the message below for additional information.

THE FOLLOWING IS AN IMPORTANT GENERAL MESSAGE FOR ALL THOSE WHO SHOOT WAX BULLETS:  Did you Know?  That when shooting live ammunition with full weighted bullets (lead or jacketed) all primers actually back-out of primer pockets for less than a millisecond. But, within that same millisecond the recoil force of the casing head slamming against the breach (blast shield) of the firearm flattens backed-out primers before they can ever cause any jam of any action, especially in that of a revolver.  When shooting wax bullets instead of full-weighted bullets that recoil force is not sufficient to flatten backed-out primers.  Therefore, our goal is to prevent the primer from backing out in the first place.  This is why when using pistol primers we enlarge flash-holes in primer pockets and with shotgun primers, we seek to find brands where the center portion of the shotgun primer does not back-out from the hull that contain it.  We have found that most U.S. brands like Winchester, CCI, Federal, and Remington do have back-out problems in most revolvers. While European brands like RIO, Nobel Sport, Fiocchi, and Cheddite are less likely to back-out in most revolvers.  This can also depend on other factors, especially head-spacing, in each revolver.
