K.) .38 Wax Bullet Brass (Large Pistol Primer Press-In/Enlarged Flash Hole) 50ct

$49.99

Available:

.38 Wax Bullet Brass (Large Pistol Primer Press-In / Enlarged Flash Hole) Box of 50 – $49.99

This brass is customized for large pistol primers, with an oversized flash-hole in the primer pocket.  Since they are “Press-in”, they still require priming and de-priming tools, but the flash-hole has been increased so that the primers will be less likely to back out, which causes the revolver cylinders to jamb.  This makes for quieter practice so not to disturb neighbors.  Nickel plated for easy cleaning.

If you are having trouble with shotgun primer back-outs because you can’t find RIO, Wolf or Nobel Sport; this may be the solution to your problem since they will work with any common brand of large pistol primer.  You can also find priming and de-priming tools at most sporting-goods stores.

THE FOLLOWING IS AN IMPORTANT GENERAL MESSAGE FOR ALL THOSE WHO SHOOT WAX BULLETS:  Did you Know?  That when shooting live ammunition with full weighted bullets (lead or jacketed) all primers actually back-out of primer pockets for less than a millisecond. But, within that same millisecond the recoil force of the casing head slamming against the breach (blast shield) of the firearm flattens backed-out primers before they can ever cause any jam of any action, especially in that of a revolver.  When shooting wax bullets instead of full-weighted bullets that recoil force is not sufficient to flatten backed-out primers.  Therefore, our goal is to prevent the primer from backing out in the first place.  This is why when using pistol primers we enlarge flash-holes in primer pockets and with shotgun primers, we seek to find brands where the center portion of the shotgun primer does not back-out from the hull that contain it.  We have found that most U.S. brands like Winchester, CCI, Federal, and Remington do have back-out problems in most revolvers. While European brands like RIO, Nobel Sport, Fiocchi, and Cheddite are less likely to back-out in most revolvers.  This can also depend on other factors, especially head-spacing, in each revolver.
